Angelina Jolie: The Sound of Redemption.

Angelina Jolie started the "Salt" promotional tour in North America, looking great, though wearing black. She then had a real downfall of style during the Asian leg of the tour, and returned to stunning best here in Europe. <div>She surprized me by wearing color, and not her much favoured black. Valentina Lisitsa is a recent discovery for me, but I'm already enthusastic about her piano-playing. Okay, I admit that the very first video I saw of her, in which she was playing Fur Elise, I was slightly unsure of the correct opinion to entertain. She delivered a brilliant performance, no arguing that, the dynamics were marvelous, perfect legatos, and <span style="font-style: italic;">plenty</span> of feeling. If I closed my eyes and just listened, than she delivered one of the best executions out there. But there was something with the way she sat, so hunched, moving so much, that bothered me. Hence the confusion.<br />Many Rachmainoff and some Beethoven concertos later, the scale tipped all the way and I became a huge fan. With a talent as huge as hers minor things like posture don't matter.<br />That woman has a handle on Rachmainoff like few other pianists. When she plays "Little Red Riding Hood", it's almost like the wolf is chasing you too. The Story Of Greedy And Pok-Pok

Yes well, we have two new pets, their names are Greedy and Pok-Pok...and, well, they're chickens. Or better yet, we <span style="font-style: italic;">had  </span>two new pets, until they escaped from rehab this morning, a.k.a. our empty swiming pool. But we're not worried, Greedy and Pok-Pok are stuipid, they'll come back. They've done it before, like the time I chaught them in the house and beat the cacca out of them (I mean literally), they still came back.<br />You see, Greedy and Pok-Pok seem to be wild chickens.<br />We don't know that for sure, but they have been invading our garden for the past months and apparently the whole neighborhood too. Harahumph!<br />So yeseterday morning, I walk into the kitchen and Eman's like, "We chaught the chickens we chaught the chickens!"<br />I was like "whatever", till Jordan told me the same thing, and I saw Greedy and Pok-Pok in a box right there in the kitchen. Oh yay! Now we have chickens and cats!<br />They were christend by Eman a few hours later, who seems to have taken onto himself the role of Godfather.  Greedy is short and fat, Pok-Pok is tall and skinny and like's jumping (if you go on Mishu's blog, we have viedo footage). we keept them in the box all day and feed them a few crusts of bread until throwing them in the pool for bedtime and exercise.<br />And well, this morning they were gone.<br />But they'll be back.<br />Greedy is always hungry.<br />P.S. Well, Ozie went training today (mind you, she's a very talented gymnast, but that's not my point). And well, of course, when it's time to pick her up, our only car still at home decides to give up the ghost. Not cool. How's she gonna get home?<br />But hakuna matata, brilliant ideas are forthcoming!!!<br />Esy will take the bike and go to her training place to pick her up!<br />Ummm...I <span style="font-style: italic;">guess</span> if it's for poor Ozie, stuck out there all alone. Yep, I pick up the bike, all bundled up against the night wind, and set out on my quest.<br />So everything's fine just about to the moment when I'm almost in town, and then...<span style="font-style: italic;">ring, ring!</span><br />Me: Hello?<br />Non-identifed home member: Hey Esy, you can come home, Ozie's trainer is gonna take her back.<br />Me: What???<br />Non-identified home member: Umm yeah. You heard me right?<br />Me: But I just got here!<br />Non-identifed home member: Oh, well, you'll just have to...<br />Me: <span style="font-style: italic;">Click.<br />Beep, beep, beep.</span><br />Yes, I hung up on them, as pissed as I was, and turned my bike around in a huff, and began the treak upwards. (It's no small distance, those of you who've been here know.) And unfourtunately, I am not at all used to biking, I'm just fine with walking, but not biking, so ow. And the effect was enhanced by the fact that I was on an undersized bike with no air in the tires.<br />But I made it home.<br />Talking to yourself helps.<br />I have a sudden urge to accquire books, by whatever means possible. Anybody up for a belated Christmas gift??

I'm still alive....

Yep.<br />Gosh you have no idea of what happened today. If I thought the journey to Los Belones was bad.....I take it all back. Gee I thought I was gonna die.<br />But let's start from the beginning. I took the bus from Cartagena to Valencia at 4:15 pm this afternoon. I reached my destination four hours later, very overjoyed to be back home...well, almost home.<br />I wait 20 minutes, nobody shows up. Well, nothing to worry about. You can't expect someone to be there so soon right? I wait another 20 minutes, still nobody. The minutes become hours.<br />Three and a half, to be precise. I try calling home repeatedly, but the number I was given is wrong, there's only some yucky rude lady on the other end who hangs up on me unceremoniously and shatters hopes to bits in the process. The meager amount of five euro my dad handed me on a last minute impulse--seeing I had nothing, and I mean NOTHING on me(wasn't my fault, nobody gave me anything)--are quickly spent on the evil pay phone that gives no change.<br />Finally my mom shows up. Man am I glad when she does!<br />Apprently, people had forgotten to comunicate my voyage to each other. Not so nice.<br />But I'm still alive....right?<br />Although during that seemingly never-ending wait I did sceam out in my brain more than once: "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!"

Banana Leaf Wood

It came to me during lunch. The brilliant idea that will make me rich.<br />It all started when my daddy decides to make me try and figure out from what wood our little fish-shaped hot pad is made. Of course, being me, I said "Banana wood!" And of course it turns out to be bamboo wood.<br />But no matter.<br />What really does matter is that our little fishy all of a sudden became my shinning beacon of inspiration as it aided me in cooking up my genius plan. So everyone prepare for.....(drumroll)....<br />BANANA LEAF WOOD!!!!!<br />It actually makes sense, you know. If people can take wood shavings and press them back together to make "wood" and then sell them to you as kitchens, why can't I do that with banana leafs? I'll take the yellow ones-so they look more like wood and I don't damage the tree-press them, shape them, and there you have it! Plus, I'm accomplishing a great environmental endeavor over here. Can't you just see the newspaper headlines?<br />"STUPENDOUS BANANA LEAF WOOD STOPS DEFORESTATION" etc. etc.<br />See, I told you so.
