Fashion Trends 2011
In most parts of the world, fall is when you start transitioning your wardrobe from breezy summer dresses to more cold-weather friendly, heavier fabrics. It's time to break out those coats and layers and vampy lipstick!
We've got a handy guide for what's hot (or cool) for Fall Fashion 2011, straight from Fashion Week. Expect color blocking to remain a major fashion yes; and say yes to color.
Although fall is normally a time to go neutral, from camel to winter whites, Fall 2011 is breaking the rules with bright jewel tones. THE "It Color" of the season? Blue. Bright, rich blue. If you have difficulty wearing bright colors, this might be the gateway color to start you off. Not too glaring or too dull, royal blue is just versatile enough to be worn for any occasion.
Hemlines are still below the knee (a sign of recession?) with the "midi" trend but manages to stay sexy with menswear-inspired tailoring and discreet slits. Heavier fabrics are indeed back, with everything from capes to hints of fur. Instead of mono colors, outerwear follows the color trends with bright, mod plaids.
Are you a trendsetter or a devout fashionista? Which fall trends will you be trying out? Before you decide, check out some of these Fashion Don'ts straight from the runways.
